One of the first tasks undertaken by the newly formed Hinsdale American Legion Post #250 was the compilation and publication of the Memorial War Review of World War Patriotism realized by Hinsdale, Illinois, at Home and Abroad, 1917-1919. 

 

Led by Editor Walter A. Schmidt, the Data Committee collected information about all who served in any capacity while the Advertising Committee worked to finance the project. 

 

Through their endeavor, Hinsdale has a complete and permanent record of its contribution to the first World War.
